Andrea Williams Bio
Andrea C. Williams is a Chicago-based entrepreneur, writer, director, and former collegiate women’s basketball coach bringing nearly three decades of leadership experience and authentic authority to the screen and her clients. A biracial African-American performer, Williams spent 28 years coaching at the collegiate level before transitioning into entertainment and entrepreneurship within the sports industry.
Her extensive career leading teams, mentoring athletes, public speaking, and operating in high-pressure environments gives her a natural presence for roles requiring leadership, confidence, and credibility. Andrea is especially suited for sports-centered projects and authority-based characters including coaches, athletic directors, educators, executives, investigators, community leaders, and professional mentors. Coach A has been named the head women’s basketball coach at Waynesburg University, Fort Valley University, Chicago State University and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Andrea currently performs as a seated actor and host with The Dinner Detective improv production in Fort Wayne and continues to develop her craft through professional training. She studied at the Chicago Actor’s Studio with Ed Dennis and has completed TV & Film On-Camera Intensives at Vagabond School of the Arts, including participation in their actor showcase program. Expanding beyond performance, Andrea has also produced, directed, and starred in independent projects, including “Ceiling Fan Club” submitted to the Vertical Shorts Festival and advanced to the judging stage. She was just recently signed to a national talent agency for her acting career.
As a sports entrepreneur and emerging coaching client advisor, Andrea brings a rare blend of lived experience, leadership, and authenticity to every role, creating performances grounded in real-world perspective and human connection. Andrea has founded the company Coach A Events & Designs in 2025. It houses her children’s coloring book line, three Student-Athlete Success Planners and Student-Athlete Resume Portfolio template. Coach A has expanded her work to the UGC market and her portfolio includes stagnant images, testimonial and video content. She understands and continues to monitor and promote NIL education for her clients. She contracts coaching clients for career advancement strategies to personal branding sessions. Sport Administrators work with her to improve goals for their programs. Coach A also works with High School and Collegiate student-athletes to advise, strategize and help in their individual careers. Some of her services include recruiting templates and academic planners.
Coach A Events & Designs has most recently produced their first Compete Con Event. A one day boutique style event for fans to meet athlete-celebrities that took place over WNBA All Star Weekend in Chicago ! The inaugural line up included Dana Evans to host session one! Holding down the matinee was Sydney Taylor and finally closing out the Sport Convention was Crystal Bradford. All three Celebrity-Athletes have or currently played in the WNBA! Due to scheduling conflict but did not appear was US Olympian WNBA Alum Angel McCoughtry. What an inaugural lineup- we could beat a lot of 3v3 teams! What a great day where fans got to meet our lineup with autographs and selfies! What a great experience for everyone to meet them up close in an intimate setting!
