B-A-M Philosophy

Basketball

I love it! I loved playing the game and now enjoy coaching women on the court! I graduated with a degree in the HPE Teaching Field. One of my greatest success stories is helping my alma mater Edinboro University reach the school's first ever Elite Eight! I love teaching the game at a high level to each of my teams that take the floor each season. I recruit basketball players who can play and score in many different ways. I like the strategy of putting players into the right spots within our offensive system to win games. That is a fun team atmosphere! Basketball is a great means to many great opportunities that have been afforded to me and that I continue to pass onto the women I coach!

Academics

I recruit student-athletes who WANT our degree!! These students match our admissions criteria and want to be successful and leave as proud alums. We produce and maintain one avenue of college alumni who have had a tremendous career and an on campus experience! We love that continuous connection and enjoy bringing them back to campus. I have had the great fortune of graduating two Waynesburg College Valedictorians! I still promote my "3.0 & Go " on social media no matter what program I am donning school colors for! We have produced 40 ALL SIAC Academic Selections. Nine Wildcats have earned 4.0 while hitting the hardwood for our program.

Mentorship

THIS is what I am passionate about! I mentor our players through many aspects and program ideals and core values. I continue to support and provide guidance to our players and staff while interacting with them on a daily basis. I continue to mentor well after graduation. I have helped our assistant coach instill our " Girl's Night Out" program while at Air Force. This monthly program helps with off the court growth opportunities to teach, expose and foster an additional learning forum. Many great topics are discussed; financial budgeting, roles in society, alum connections, wellness checks and best practices, just to name a few. One of my favorite success stories is a graduate from our Jacksonville University program DaVina Hamilton, who now is the Associate Dean of students!

I have been fortunate enough to mentor fellow coaches within our profession. I am in contact with well over 25 young ladies and men who pace the sidelines. I have hosted numerous Final Four Events to engage, teach, fellowship, and advance careers for us all.

I have also been blessed with a great personal mentor who comes from the NFL world. He routinely meets with me to mentor myself and also has been a key note speaker for my team gatherings and for my personal mentee group retreats! He has been invaluable with advice, strategy, and how to handle many difficult situations. He is a disciple of Tony Dungy and worked for him many years so the resource has been a tremendous asset for me personally.

I have been asked to give back to the BCA / ACE Programming on court and fireside chats. I have also been sought after to speak and share on a variety of topics to help coaches from the WBCA/ WCA Alliance.

I love sharing and having a positive impact with many women who stay in this profession and want to advance!
